Discussion Starters

Monday—Have you ever felt alone? When? What did it feel like? Why do you think we crave companionship, especially when life is hard?

Tuesday—Why is betrayal by a kiss especially grievous? In what way is the disciples’ attempt to advance the gospel by the sword similar to Judas’ betrayal with a kiss?

Wednesday—Why is Peter’s abandonment of Jesus so heartbreaking? Why do you think Jesus allowed Peter to stumble in this way? How might 2 Timothy 2:11-13 be comforting to you when you stumble in your faith?

Thursday—What does it mean that Peter “wept bitterly”? Why did he weep? Do you weep and grieve over your sin?

Friday—What could drive Jesus to endure betrayal and abandonment for you? When your faith is weak and you struggle against sin, why is it important to remember Jesus’ love?
