63 — Children of God

CHILDREN OF GOD

(LUKE 22:63 - 23:25)

To be a child of God means acknowledging that that, though he is the righteous God, Jesus suffered in your place on the cross.

  • SON OF GOD? (22:63-71)

  • INSURRECTIONIST? (23:1-16)

  • SONS OF THE FATHER? (23:18-25)

Discussion Starters

Monday—What is blasphemy? Was Jesus guilty of blasphemy? Why or why not?

Tuesday—What do you think led people to lie about Jesus if he had done nothing wrong? What leads people to hate God?

Wednesday—Does it ever bother you that Jesus didn’t say more to defend himself before Pilate and Herod? Why? What would have happened if he had successfully defended himself and been set free?

Thursday—Who is to blame for Jesus’ death? What does it mean to see yourself in Barabbas?

Friday—Is everyone a child of God? Are we all heirs of heaven? What must you do if you want to be forgiven for your sin?
