52 — Olivet

OLIVET (LUKE 19:28-40)

Jesus came to make peace between heaven and earth and is worthy of your praise and worship.

  1. GLORY (VV. 28-38; GENESIS 49:8-12; ZECHARIAH 9:9; 14:1-4)

  2. HUMILITY (GENESIS 49:12; 2 SAMUEL 15; ZECHARIAH 9:9)

  3. WHAT DO YOU DO WITH JESUS? (VV. 38-40)

Discussion Starters

Monday—What are the two things about Jesus that tend to bother people? Which do you struggle with more?

Tuesday—Read Zechariah 9:9-11. What does it tell you about the coming King? How does it present both glory and humility? Why is it so hard for us to keep these together?

Wednesday—Read Genesis 49:8-12. What does it tell you about the coming King? Why does God talk about washing in wine and blood? Don’t those stain?

Thursday—Read Zechariah 14:1-4 and Acts 1:9-12. What do they tell you about the Lord’s return? How will it be similar and how will it be different from his time on Olivet in Luke 19? How should that affect us as we await his return?

Friday—How do Jesus’ glory and humility affect your life? How are you to respond to them? In what way are to reflect them?
