Discussion Starters

Monday—What is the biggest problem facing the church? What is the church’s greatest need? How are you tempted to answer that question? How would God answer it?

Tuesday—What the problem of Israel wanting God’s justice to come? What message did John the Baptist bring when he preceded Jesus? How does that help us understand our greatest need?

Wednesday—What is the “refiner’s fire”? What did it do? How did the refiner know he was done? How do afflictions in this life serve like a refiner’s fire for you?

Thursday—What does it mean that Jesus goes into the fire with us? Where did he most clearly suffer the fiery wrath of God? How does that protect you from the fiery wrath?

Friday—Do you think of the fact that God does not change as a source of comfort in the midst of affliction? How can that fact be a comfort to you?
