Faithfulness (Malachi 2:10-16)

FAITHFULNESS

MALACHI 2:10-16

If you love God you will marry a Christian and remain faithful to your marriage vows.

  • God Cares Deeply About Marriage (vv. 14-15)

  • God Requires Faithfulness in Marriage (vv. 10-11, 15-16)

  • God Always Sides with the Victim (vv. 12-16)

Discussion Starters

Monday—What is love? How would you define it? What characterizes it? Where would you go in the Bible to explain love?

Tuesday—Why does God care so much about marriage? How does the way you treat marriage show what you think about God? Why?

Wednesday—Why does God say that Christians only marry Christians? Is this a recommendation or a command? Is it enough to simply make sure that a person says they’re a Christian or does God want more? Why?

Thursday—What’s the difference between a lawful and an unlawful divorce? Why does God allow divorce in some cases? What happens when a church fails to protect victims?

Friday—If you (or someone you love) has had an unbiblical divorce, does that mean there is no hope? What do you think God requires of the one who has done this?
