61 — Heavy is the Head

HEAVY IS THE HEAD

LUKE 22:24-38

Every Christian is called to lead in some way and the call to lead is a call to lay down your life for those you lead.

  • THE QUEST FOR GLORY (VV. 24-26, 28-30, 35-38)

  • LEADERSHIP TRAINING (VV, 27, 31-34, 37)

Discussion Starters

Monday—What does your own personal quest for glory look like? What are the areas you want to be seen as exceptional?

Tuesday—What does it mean to serve someone? What events from Jesus’ own life does he use as examples of serving? (vv. 27, 37)

Wednesday—What does it mean that everyone leads in some way? What are ways that the Lord has called you to lead (and, therefore, serve)?

Thursday—Why does Jesus use the plural of “you” when he tells Peter that Satan has demanded to test him? (v. 31) Why does God allow his most zealous followers to falter and be brought low? How has Jesus helped you grow through being brought low?

Friday—What does it mean to “see yourself in the bread and wine”? How is the Lord’s Supper not just a picture of Jesus’ suffering, but yours as well?
