The Jews totally missed the point of the fasts, thinking they were for God’s benefit and not theirs, and in-so-doing missed the very thing they were meant to learn (namely that pridefully rejecting God leads to destruction).

The woman Wickedness is the false church that honors God with her lips, but pursues an earthly religion of self-righteousness and will meet with judgment on the Last Day as she is expelled from the Promised Land and cast into the abyss.
